Unfortunately this hazard in the lawn passed my notice until it was too late. The moment I realized it was there I accelerated and then lifted up on the handlebars to make the front tire clear the near side of the drain. Of course, the front tire then crashed into the far side of the drain. I flew over the handlebars into the grass on the other side. My shin had a medium-sized scrape on it, so it probably didn't quite clear the drain. The worst thing about the spill is my head snapped backwards when my face went into the grass, which strained my neck. Thankfully the final result was merely a less flexible neck than I had before. The consequences could have been much more severe.
