Found this nice little spot to park last night at an intersection on a side street, behind a convenience store near a mall. You can't tell from this photo, but the truck is about 2 feet inside a white line separating the shoulder from the lane of travel.

It's better to park on a street like this than in a retail parking lot. Stores sometimes have guards come around and shoo drivers out in the middle of the night.
