The NY State Patrol was inspecting trucks at a rest area today, apparently writing up whatever they could find, and then some. When I switched on the right turn signal, the inspector had trouble seeing it blinking in the bright sun, so he wrote on the report that it was "inoperable" (I checked it later and it's working fine). He also wrote up the trailer for something really dubious having to do with normal wear on the air lines. The inspection took nearly 45 minutes.
