Carolyn Lis (Kresek) 2008 BIO I live in Frisco, Texas, with my husband, Ron, and our 7 year old son, Jonathan. I also have three grown step-children Michael (35), Dan (33) and Mary (28) from Ron's first marriage. After college in Oregon, I joined the Navy. I didn't see the world, but I did have the opportunity to live in a lot of different and fun places including London, Washington D.C., Monterey, San Diego, Chicago (Ron's hometown) and even a tour of duty in Seattle. In the Navy, I worked primarily in operational logistics (think moving stuff to places around the world) and administration. The closest I came to a ship was as an executive officer on a 50 year old floating drydock in San Diego. I retired from the Navy in 2003 - after 20 years. Our family ended up here in a Dallas suburb not due to a Navy transfer, but my husband's corporate move. We've been here three years during which I've been a stay-at-home mom (a big adjustment for me). I lead a local environmental group and volunteer at a social service organization. Jonathan joined cub scouts last year and I'm now a den leader too. I thought it would be easy after working with sailors, but I've met my match with a dozen 7 year old boys! | |
